Etna Maximum Altitude: trekking between active craters and lunar landscapes.
A unique experience for those who want to experience Etna in its most authentic form, reaching the maximum altitude allowed, between 3000 and 3400 meters.

2The path we will follow
Starting from Catania, we will climb up to 2500 meters with the Etna Cableway to be paid on site (50€), and then begin an exciting 4-5 hour trek through lunar landscapes, active craters and recent lava flows.
At these altitudes, the volcano shows itself in all its power: we will walk along the summit craters, closely observing the fumaroles and degassing phenomena, with spectacular views over the whole of Sicily. The route continues with a visit to a lava flow cave, where we can discover how the lava has shaped the subsoil during past eruptions.
